How to Apply a Body Serum (the Right Way!)
Body serums are a great addition to your skincare routine if you’re looking for some added moisture or targeted treatment. I know they’ve definitely helped improve the look and feel of my skin! And while there isn’t exactly a “right way” to apply a body serum, there are certain methods that can help ensure you get the most out of their benefits.
Below are some basic steps and tips for applying body serums:
1. Start with Clean Skin
- Showering or bathing helps remove any dirt, oils, or sweat from your skin, making it easier for the serum to penetrate deeply and work effectively. 
- Gently pat your skin dry with a towel without excessively drying. Leaving your skin slightly damp can sometimes help with better absorption, especially if the serum is hydrating. 
2. Exfoliate (this step is optional)
- Consider exfoliating your skin a couple of times a week to help remove dead skin cells. This will allow the serum to penetrate deeper. 
3. Apply the Serum
- Dispense a small amount of serum onto your hand (per its instructions). 
- Apply the serum directly to the areas of your body you want to treat. Feel free to focus on specific areas, such as patches of roughness, uneven texture, or dryness. 
- Gently massage the serum into your skin, avoiding aggressive movements. Fun fact: Using upward and outward motions helps with absorption and stimulates circulation. 
4. Allow it to Absorb
- Let the serum to absorb fully before applying other products or getting dressed, which may cause the serum to rub off. 
5. Seal it in with Moisturizer
- After the serum has absorbed, follow up with a body lotion or moisturizer to help lock in the serum’s benefits. 
And remember….consistency is key! Incorporating your body serum into your regular skincare routine can help yield the best results.
